I worked as the Graphic Design Intern of Thurgood Marshall College at UCSD. As a part of their Design Team, I created digital assets, print materials, and various merchandise for promoting events, making academic announcements, and fostering students' sense of belonging to the Marshall community. We also provided graphic support – such as logo designs, branding, and website redesigns – for student organizations and college departments as requested.

Seasonal Branding

To develop a more consistent visual identity and enhance social media engagement, we brainstormed seasonal moodboards and created style guides accordingly every quarter. Our designs for social media, newsletter, merchandise, etc. would then follow the style guide closely. Here are some examples of how they were implemented:

Marshallpalooza

Marshallpalooza is an annual carnival-like event that features fun rides, performances, giveaways, and more. For 2021, we came up with an elegant but lively theme with a blue and gold palette, centered around a carousel as requested by the client (planning committee). It was a really fun project that involved creating various digital as well as physical marketing materials and giveaway items. It was the first large-scale in-person event after a prolonged period of remote learning and was successfully held, attracting over 1000 students.

Heritage Months Infographics

A major project that I initiated was creating infographics about heritage months to be posted on our instagram. The project echoes the college's values of diversity and justice, and mission on preparing students to become "engaged citizens who are committed to serving society". The infographics not only recognize and celebrate these months, but also educate students on the history and terms related to the social struggles. Moreover, they raise awareness on issues that the communities continue to face and encourage students to take action. Here are some examples:

Thurgood Vibes

Stickers I designed as a part of Marshall's goody bags. They were distributed to students before Sun God festival, an annual campus-wide music festival at UCSD.
